FOSTER CAMPBELL: " BRING
PSC TO NORTH LOUISIANA"- Sep. 6 2002
The Public Service Commission should come to North
Louisiana to hear rate cases before increasing utility
costs on our families, PSC candidate Foster Campbell said.
“My first move as commissioner will be to ask the PSC to
meet in North Louisiana,” Campbell said. “The five elected
commissioners who determine how much we pay for
electricity, gas and telephone service should hear
directly from the people before raising our rates.”
Campbell, state senator from District 36 in northwest
Louisiana, said the state Board of Commerce and Industry
and the Racing Commission, as well as various legislative
committees, all travel around Louisiana for meetings.
"The PSC is the most important regulatory body in
Louisiana,” he said. “It has a powerful impact on the
pocketbooks of the people and the ability to promote a
better economy.
“Taking the commission out of Baton Rouge and bringing it
to North Louisiana will improve the quality of its
decisions and make it more accountable to the people it
represents.”
