FOSTER CAMPBELL OPENS HEADQUARTERS FOR NORTH LOUISIANA PSC CAMPAIGN - June 26 2002

SHREVEPORT - Senator Foster Campbell opened the headquarters of his campaign to win the North Louisiana seat on the Public Service Commission Wednesday, June 26, in southeast Shreveport.
Campaign supporters, businesspeople and local public officials attended the 5:30 p.m. opening at 2412 East 70th Street.

"I am actively working to earn this seat on the Public Service Commission, and this headquarters will play a key role in my campaign," Campbell said.

"Running in 24 parishes across all of North Louisiana is a big challenge. I invite all my supporters to visit the headquarters and find out how they can help us achieve this victory."
Campbell supporters can pick up signs, stickers, pushcards and other campaign materials and meet key campaign staff. The office is located on busy East 70th Street in southeast Shreveport one mile west of the Jimmie Davis Bridge. The telephone number is 318 741 LPSC (5772). The campaign's website address is www.fostercampbell.com.

Since announcing in February that he would be a candidate for the District 5 seat on the PSC, Campbell has visited every parish and maintained a busy speaking schedule in the district.

"The PSC is without doubt the most important regulatory body in Louisiana," he said. "It oversees rates for electricity, water, transportation and other utilities. It has a powerful impact on the pocketbooks of the people and the ability to advance and promote a better economy."

I believe my background as a businessman and my legislative record as a consumer advocate qualify me to serve on our PSC."

Campbell said his first move as commissioner will be to push for full PSC hearings in North Louisiana. He said he would also personally hold hearings twice a year in each of the 24 parishes in PSC District 5.
